Multiple award winnerSarana VerLin started writing and playing at the age of 10 and was performing internationally at the age of 12. She has worked with many people, including grammy award winners Don Was (everyone from Willie Nelson to Rolling Stones) and Steve King (Eminem), and producer Ben Grosse (Debbie Harry, Marilyn Manson).
In her twenties, VerLin fronted the band Natasha which won the Detroit Metro X Music Award for Best New Talent. She also won Detroit Metro XMusic Awards Best Instrumentalist three years in a row...and now is in the Detroit Metro X Music Hall of Fame alongside prestigious musicians such as Aretha Franklin and Iggy Pop. She was one of the original members of the supergroup Dark Carnival, a rotating group of superstars including the late Ron Asheton and Jim Carroll.
VerLin has appeared on 5 vinyl albums, 1 single 45, and 5 CDs as well as guest appearances on other recordings. Aside from 5 DMA awards she has received several other nominations in rock, acoustic and country categories.
With classical training and rock roots, she spent several years on the festival circuit...her current style is dedicated to exploring the boundaries of Pop, Folk, Rock, Alt-Country, Celtic and Americana..and where these lines blur is where she thrives! - Billy Brandt & Sarana VerLin

Billy Brandt & Sarana VerLin take roots music across the ocean and back blending elements of Celtic and Americana roots in what they like to call 'Celticana'.
VerLin's rhythm guitar is the perfect backdrop for Brandt's soulful guitar work. He returns the favor with magical guitar accompaniement when she picks up the violin for some haunting celtic melodies.

Shoot Out The Lights takes it's roots from across the pond and combines the best elements of folk and celtic rock.
Members Sarana VerLin and Billy Brandt are joined by John Holk (The Sequins, Some Velvet Evening) on electric and stand-up bass and Kerry Gluckman (THTX) on percussion. Other musicians appearing may include Drew "Capt'n Midnight" on dobro and mandolin, Wally Jarvis on accordian, Todd Glass on drums or Chris Degnore on guitar. - Carnival Girl

Carnival Girl emerged in 2010, having made history with different bands as part of the Detroit rock scene in the 80's. Fronted by Sarana VerLin (who wrote most of the music) and Beaux Mitchell, their sound has been described as edgy, pop indie rock.
History: Sarana VerLin formed the band Natasha which won a DMA for best new talent. During her Natasha years she also won 3 years in a row for best instrumentalist. Beaux Mitchell is also a former DMA winner for her band The Roomates. Gary Adams comes from The Cubes and also played in Dark Carnival along with VerLin. Kerry Gluckman was in Park the Karma and Walk the Dogma. Billy Brandt was instrumental in launching several Detroit bands including Jill Jack and Red C.
